City Clerk’s Digitization Project – On April 20, 2022, the City Clerk’s office will be having files sent offsite in order to have documents scanned. This project is in efforts to digitize files to continue our ongoing modernization of the office and to ultimately have records readily available and accessible for review. The files we will be sending offsite include City Council Records from 2000 to 2019 and Board of Appeals Records 2005 to 2019. Please be aware that wait times for such documents will be impacted. We thank you for your understanding and patience during this process. If you have any questions, please contact the City Clerk’s office at 781-897-5850 or lhiggins@cityofwoburn.com.

The Office of the City Clerk provides administrative support to the City Council. Petitions should be prepared with as much information as possible, including plans and exhibits, to assist the City Council and other boards in reviewing this matter. Petitions must be filed with the Office of the City Clerk by 1:00 p.m. on the Thursday before a Regular Meeting of the City Council to be read into the record at that meeting.
For a list of all City Council filing fees, go to: Woburn City Council Filing Fees. In addition to the filing fees, a $300.00 Advertising and Mailing Charge will be added to all fees.
The process for obtaining a special permit from the City Council is governed by Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40A and the 1985 Woburn Zoning Ordinances, as amended. You can download a petition for a special permit, associated documents and more information at the links below:
