Please contact the Planning Office at 781-897-5817 to discuss your project prior to submittal. Additionally, please review the Woburn Subdivision Rules and Regulations for all details required for each project’s submission.

Approval Not Required

Any person who wishes to cause to be recorded in the Registry of Deeds or to be filed with the Land Court a plan of land situated in Woburn, and who believes that his plan does not require approval under the Subdivision Control Law, may submit his plan to the board for a determination. Preliminary Subdivision

A preliminary plan must be submitted for a non-residential subdivision and may be submitted for a residential subdivision by the applicant to the Planning Board and to the Board of Health for discussion and approval, modification or disapproval by each board. Definitive Subdivision

A Definitive Subdivision plan is a division of land into two or more lots and details specifically how a new subdivision road will be laid out, the final lot configuration, and the location and dimensions of utilities such as water, sewer, and drainage facilities. Special Permit

The Planning Board is charged with approving special permits for Light Manufacturing uses over 15,000 gross square feet in area in the IP, IP-2, IG, S-2, O-P and OP-93 zoning districts; the Board is also charged with granting special permits for Light Manufacturing uses of less than 15,000 gross square feet in area in the S-2, O-P and OP-93 zoning districts. The review and granting of these special permits are governed by the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40A, Section 9. Forms required for a Special Permit submission:
