City Earns Top Award for Website Excellence From MMA

The City of Woburn earned the top award for best municipal website by the Massachusetts Municipal Association (MMA).

The MMA applauded the City’s efforts to make its website an effective tool for the community, and recognized the City of Woburn for excellence in customer service, functionality, convenience and government transparency delivered by a municipal website during its recent Annual Meeting and Trade Show in Boston.

Mayor Scott Galvin credited a great working partnership with Chief Innovation Officer David Mastronardi and Stirling Technologies, the City’s technology partner on the project.

“There’s been a lot of effective teamwork from everyone, including department heads and city employees,” said Mayor Galvin. “It’s critical to offer residents a municipal website that delivers an interactive, informational, transparent and useful experience as part of their relationship with local government.”

Judges evaluated municipal websites from across Massachusetts based on criteria including clear branding as the official municipal site, intuitive navigation tools and organization of material, timely information, mobile-friendly design, resources for residents such as ability to apply for licenses and permits, pay bills, and request document, and tools to promote economic development.
