Mayor Extends Thanks for a Successful, Uplifting Inaugural Evening

Thanks to everyone who pitched in to make the City’s Inaugural Exercises and Organization of Woburn City Government a reaffirming evening at City Hall.

Great to see the Chambers packed with neighbors, friends and family, united in our commitment to the great City of Woburn. Congratulations again to the members of the City Council and School Committee as they embark on a new term of service to their neighborhoods and school districts.  Congratulations to Mike Anderson on his re-election as President of the City Council, and to Ellen Crowley, as she embarks on her service as Chairman of the School Committee.

We appreciate the honor of having State Rep. Richard Haggerty, State Rep. Michelle Ciccolo participate in the event. Thanks also to Father Richard Clancy for delivering the invocation and benediction.

Special thanks to Fred Domenici and accompanying musicians for a beautiful rendition of our National Anthem and other great musical selections. We are also grateful to the members of the Woburn Police Department Honor Guard for their presence.

Thanks also to the Leo family at The Brickyard for hosting an enjoyable reception following the formal exercises.  A big thanks to the members of my Inaugural Committee for their hard work organizing the evening’s festivities—they include Marie Lingblom, Lori Medeiros and Paul Medeiros.

Thanks also to Larry Rideout for again doing a great job as our Inaugural Master of Ceremonies, and to City Clerk William Campbell for presiding over the oaths of office.  Thanks to Sandy Heimlich and Heimlich Nurseries for the beautiful poinsettias that adorned the stage.

Thanks to Richard Jaime, David Galante, Kevin Thifault, as well as Lenny Burnham and the DPW for their work readying the Chambers.

Thanks again for a wonderful evening.

Sincerely,

Scott D. Galvin

Mayor
