The Woburn Council on Aging recently raffled iPads to 10 lucky seniors, thanks to $3,000 in grant funding from Winchester Hospital and Beth Israel Lahey Health. The program itself is part of a larger effort to offer access to technology as well as programs and activities aimed at better health of the mind and body.
Raffle winners are:
Mary Pollard, Mary Jane Mastrodomenico, Mary Smith, Maggie Baldasarro, Hasmig McDonald, Dave McMahone, Donna Pihlaje, Elaine Baldassarre, Irene Williams, and Victor Skowronski.
Eligible seniors included those who participated in at least three wellness and exercise classes over a two-month period in the fall 2021. Attendance during the qualifying period totaled more than 1,500, with approximately 200 seniors participating and 84 eligible for the raffle.
Marie Lingblom, Director of the Woburn Council on Aging, expressed gratitude to Winchester/Lahey. “The chance to win an iPad was a fun incentive for a program that combined recreation, exercise, and technology. Many thanks to Winchester/Lahey for this opportunity to place brand new iPads into the hands of local seniors, just in time for the holidays!”
