Pursuant to Rule 31 of the Rules and Orders of the City Council, the President of the City
Council has called for a Special Meeting of the City Council for the purposes of electing a City Auditor, and for taking action on an Order to transfer $40,000.00 from Cemetery Interest Fund to various Cemetery Accounts and an Order to transfer $1,000.00 from DPW Street Flood Lights Acct to DPW Flag Day (2015) Acct, and for any other matter that may legally be before the City Council.

On the election of a City Auditor. A report was received from the Committee on Personnel as follows: “Back for action nominating Charles Doherty and Andrew Vanni”. Alderman DiTucci commended both candidates for their participation in the process. The City Council proceeded to the election of a City Auditor by roll call vote. ROLL CALL: Anderson – Doherty, Concannon – Doherty, DiTucci – Doherty, Drapeau – Doherty, Gaffney – Doherty, Gately – Doherty, MercerBruen – Doherty, Raymond – Doherty, Haggerty – Doherty. On the first ballot, Charles Doherty received nine (9) votes. Charles Doherty, of 37 Warren Avenue, Woburn, Massachusetts, having received the necessary majority vote, was declared elected to the position of City Auditor. Motion made and 2nd that a communication be sent to the City Auditor-elect indicating a start date of July 27, 2015 and asking for his written acceptance, all in favor, 9-0. President Haggerty stated that the incumbent City Auditor will close out the books for FY2015 which will take approximately two to three weeks and then the City Auditor-elect will take office. _________________________
On the Order to transfer the sum of $40,000.00 from Cemetery Interest Fund to various Cemetery Accounts, committee report was received “ought to pass”. Motion made and 2nd that the COMMITTEE REPORT be ADOPTED, all in favor, 9-0.

Day (2015) Acct, committee report was received “ought to pass”. Motion made and 2nd that the COMMITTEE REPORT be ADOPTED, all in favor, 9-0.
