Community Meeting: Downtown Safety Improvements

We hope to see you in person, but if you can’t join us at City Hall you can watch the broadcast here.

This is your chance to share ideas and provide feedback! In this community meeting we will be exploring our downtown traffic and business center. Our goal is to collect resident feedback on what should be prioritized.

Our focus is safety and operational improvements and includes the reconfiguration of the Woburn Common rotary to a more traditional configuration. The project includes Main Street from Salem Street to High Street, Pleasant Street from the Woburn Common to Court Street and Montvale Avenue from Main Street to Greenwood Avenue. The project will include roadway reconstruction, reconstruction of sidewalk, and bicycle accommodation.

The great news is this will be largely funded by federal and state funds. The project will be consistent with Woburn’s adopted Complete Streets policy. The project is 100% construction funded (80% federal funds / 20% state funds). The city is responsible for design, environmental permitting and right-of-way.
