City Census Forms in the Mail

The City of Woburn annual local census is once again underway and 17,012 forms were mailed to every household in the city. The forms are due back at City Hall within ten days after receipt. State law requires that the city send the mailing every year.

Under state law, if a census is not returned from a residence, the voters in that house are designated inactive, with inconvenience to the voters and extra costs for additional mailings. The census is also the primary source for proof of residency now and into the future. For example, some public jobs as well as schools require proof of residency.
