License Commission to hold meetings
on April 14 and May 5 at City Hall
- Issuance of ninth package store license
WOBURN – The Woburn License Commission is extending an invitation to the community to participate in hearings on Thursday, April 14, 2022, and Thursday, May 5, 2022. Both hearings will be held in City Council Chambers, Woburn City Hall, 10 Common St., Woburn, Mass., at 6:30 p.m.
The Woburn License Commission is soliciting input from the community about whether there is a need for the commission to issue a ninth package store license in Woburn.
Last year, the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission (ABCC) increased the city’s quota of liquor licenses based on the 2020 U.S. Census. Woburn was allotted one new package store license.
On March 17, 2022, the Woburn License Commission rejected separate applications for the new package store license at 120 Commerce Way and 103 Commerce Way. The Commission subsequently opted to hold these two hearings on April 14 and May 5 to determine if it is in the best interests of the community to issue this license.
Members of the community are invited to address the commission at either or both hearings. Interested parties are also invited to send written correspondence to the Woburn License Commission via email to gvincent@cityofwoburn.com, or U.S. Mail to: Gordon Vincent, Clerk of the Woburn License Commission, City Clerk’s office, 10 Common St., Woburn, Mass. 01801.
