PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE
City of Woburn Stormwater Management Plan
The City of Woburn is required to obtain a permit from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection to discharge stormwater to local waterbodies including ponds, rivers, streams, and wetlands. This permit, known as the Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) General Permit, requires Woburn to undertake a program that includes best management practices (BMPs) under six categories (minimum control measures) specified by the permit and to protect already impaired waterbodies with enhanced BMPs.
The City Council will hold a public meeting on Monday June 10, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber, Woburn City Hall, Common Street. The public meeting is being held to inform the Council and attendees about the General Permit requirements, review the proposed Stormwater Management Program and City’s BMPs, and encourage discussion and solicit feedback on the written Stormwater Management Plan as required by the General Permit.
The Department of Public Works through its City Engineer invites the public to attend the June 10, 2019, City Council meeting to participate in the review of the SWMP.
