About the Project

The City of Woburn is launching a comprehensive planning effort to reimagine the future of downtown. Supported by a Community One Stop for Growth grant, this project will evaluate zoning, land use, economic development opportunities, and transportation conditions to help guide long-term growth.

The City has hired a consultant team led by SGA and Redgate to work closely with City staff, residents, business owners, and community partners throughout the process.

This work will be coordinated with the FY 2029 traffic reconfiguration, which will improve traffic flow, pedestrian safety, and access to Woburn Common. Aligning zoning updates with these improvements ensures a cohesive and forward-looking plan for downtown.

Public Outreach Opportunities

Wednesday, April 8th, 2026
6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

City Council Chamber

At this meeting, the project team will present the draft recommendations developed through community engagement and ongoing analysis of downtown zoning, land use, economic development, transportation, and public space conditions. This is an opportunity to learn more about the direction of the plan, review the proposed recommendations, and share feedback before the work is finalized.

All community members are encouraged to attend.
